Coffee indulgence is no more limited to a cup of coffee; beauty and skincare enthusiasts fancy it too. Take for instance, the coffee scrub I recently added in my skincare routine by Imiana House, called RhoCo 2 in 1 Scrub and Mask. Channelling my inner coffee fanatic towards an aromatic skincare pampering, I eagerly jumped in to see how the coffee scrub works for me. And here goes…
What is RhoCo Coffee Scrub made of?
– 50% Arabica, 50% Robusta organic coffee, Rhassoul clay, kaolin clay, raw jungle honey
– No SLS/Paraben/Phthalate and is cruelty-free
– No artificial fragrance
Packaging- a rather runny scrub is stored in a regular tub with a black cap.
Price- INR 300 for 25 gms (1.9 0z)
To be used within 12 months after opening.
Texture and Fragrance- Sticky and with moderate consistency, the scrub contains tiny coffee granules which melt while scrubbing. Drawing you to a coffee experience, the scrub’s aroma wins you over instantly.
How I used the scrub?
Since it’s a scrub and a mask, the choice is yours, depending on how much time you’d like to invest in the routine.
Using it as a scrub initially, I exfoliated my face for around 2-3 minutes before washing the scrub off with normal water. Remeber to scrub gently and to not force the granules harshly on your skin.
Using it as a mask the later week, I spread the coffee goodness onto my face, mixing it with a few drops of water occasionally to maintain the smooth spread. Finally covering the entire face, I waited for 15-20 minutes before washing it off with normal water and simultaneously massaging skin in circular motions.
*A little purging near my nose was visible, but it evened out in an hour. And so it is always advised to do a patch test before you apply it on your face.
Personally, the scrub routine was more effective than masking. Exfoliating instantly with visible glow and freshness on my skin, I had no doubt on the efficiency of coffee as a scrub ingredient. While the mask process took longer, the result wasn’t as visible and durable to keep the energy going.
To conclude, I’d buy myself another tub of a coffee scrub, given it is free of artificial fragrance and is of course, a product created naturally and organically.
